Cell Shift Leader, night shift
Purpose of the Job:
To lead your shift team to meet the daily production plan.
To ensure Health & Safety & Environment requirements are met for your team members (eg use of protective equipment, incident reporting).
Shift pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 9.45pm to 6.15am with 60 minutes' break time during each shift.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead and organise the team's activities to the agreed Weekly Production Plan to achieve 100% Schedule Adherence at quality standards.
* Leadership for Company standards for employee safety for your shift.
* Leadership for Company standards for the environment for your shift.
* Input to the preparation of forward Weekly Production plans.
* Preparation for and leading the daily shift handover meetings to the next shift team.
* Ensure quality and process control requirements are completed including fuel cell traceability, process spread sheets, and visual inspection.
* Ensure that all non-conformances with the process or product are reported and take the necessary actions as indicated on the control plan.
* Ensure that equipment maintenance is completed.
* Responsible for 5S within the area.
* Maintain adequate stocks of raw materials to complete the required processes and report any shortages.
* Work with R&D and Engineering personnel in continuous improvement activities.
* Ensure the work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Previous manufacturing operations experience
* Previous quality control measurement and reporting experience
* Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS products
* Evidence of numeracy and literacy skills
Highly desirable skills and experience:
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing
* Previous experience of leadership
* Basic engineering/scientific/chemical process skills
* Experience of working in controlled areas eg GMP, clean room
* An understanding of ISO9001
Internal and External Relationships:
* Quality Team: reporting quality issues; operating QC instruments; direction on cell quality; training.
* Manufacturing Engineering: reporting equipment/process failures; direction on process equipment requirements; training.
* Facilities Team (incl H&SE): reporting site/facility issues; reporting near miss and incidents; direction on facility requirements; training.
Early/late for the first 6 weeks to % shift
This role can by physically tiring and would suit someone used to being on their feet for long periods
