We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Worker to join our team to work alongside our wider housing team to support with the day-to-day operation of our Young Families Project which houses 22 young families in Brighton & Hove. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £23,530 per annum (pro-rata).Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.YMCA DownsLink Group is a charity working to transform the lives of vulnerable young people across Sussex and Surrey. We work to prevent youth homelessness and provide a home to 763 young people every night. We reach a further 10,000 young people and their families through our other key services, such as counselling, support and advice, mediation, and youth work, so that all young people can belong, contribute, and thrive. We employ c450 full & part-time staff and a growing group of volunteers.As our Project Worker, you will take an assets-based approach, working with parents and their children in their homes to provide focused family support. As a service, we provide a safe and caring environment for young families, with their aspirations and desires always at the forefront of the support we offer them. Our service seeks to encourage and empower young parents to move forward positively, and to learn and achieve the independent skills they need to live positive and fulfilling lives.Key responsibilities of our Project Worker include:Delivering one-to-one and group sessions to help residents to develop personally and socially so that they can grow in confidence and move towards independenceCarrying a case load of young families, engage them in effective support planning and work with them towards achieving tailored goals and positive outcomesComplying with all YMCA DLG policies and procedures, in particular Safeguarding Children and Adults, and Equality and Diversity, and abide by the Code of ConductAttending appropriate continuing professional development and training events and be committed to team eventsSupporting with any other appropriate duties as directed by the Projects ManagerOur ideal Project Worker will have:Experience working with young parents and their children, particularly those considered vulnerable or with multiple and complex needsEncouragement to positively change in the individuals we work with by managing challenging behaviour appropriatelyCoordination to be able to complete multiple tasks to ensure effective safeguarding of our residents in accordance with health and safety guidelines and should have the ability to engage, motivate, inspire and empower young familiesExcellent record keeping and report writingExcellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and data management systems such as B-Think or INFORMYMCA DownsLink Group welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
