Project Worker
Merrick House, Hastings
£11.03
37.5 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to join our Rough Sleeping Initiative Assessment Unit team based at Merrick House. Merrick house consists of 12 bedrooms in a shared house and our service provides temporary housing along with intensive support to those with complex needs, including drug and alcohol addictions, mental health and other needs.
Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, you will carry out holistic assessments of each individual's needs to provide an excellent support service, encouraging access to long-term accommodation, including supported accommodation, social and private sector tenancies and Housing First accommodation.

The role of Project Worker will include:
Regularly assessing the needs of clients by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks
Skills and experiences:
Previous experience of working with vulnerable people, specifically those with drug and alcohol dependencies
Good interpersonal and customer care skills, with an approachable attitude
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
