Could you be a Sense Communicator Guide?
Sense are looking for a passionate and motivated person to join us as a Communicator Guide in Coventry.
This is a permanent, part-time role, working 19 hours per week. Your shifts will include working on Weekdays and Saturdays.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support an individual who is congenitally Deafblind and who uses tactile communication methods, including Deafblind manual and some hands-on signing.
As a Communicator Guide, you will be providing communication support as well as supporting the individual in the community to access activities like local leisure, social clubs, shopping, going out for meals. You will also support the individual with activities that are important for them, such as visiting the local animal shelter.
The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such.

Your duties can include:
To support individuals / groups within the home, centre and community.
To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:
You require a full UK license and must be willing/able to drive.
Experience of supporting deafblind individuals is essential.
Knowledge of communicating with deafblind manual and block letters is essential.
Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is desirable ( BSL / Makaton etc.)
You don't need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications - we're happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker.
