WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to work on Computer Vision, Machine Learning and other related development technologies to aid the development of Autonomous Driving Systems and to contribute to the development of various other systems.

This role will be based within the Electrical & Vehicle Engineering Centre of Competence, and part of the Pre-development Team based within the Assisted and Automated Driving department.

We are searching for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with a wide range of expertise ranging from Computer Vision, 3D Scene Reconstruction, SLAM, Sensor Fusion and Deep Learning.

The ideal candidate will work alongside one of our teams to develop and integrate novel vehicle focused intelligent solutions. You will be working regularly with multiple on-car data sources, cameras, range sensors and input devices and radars.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Strong experience in developing production-grade Deep Learning based Computer Vision / Machine
* To deliver continual improvements to the Machine Learning software development process
* Domain expertise in Robotics or Driver Assistance Systems
* Hands-on experience in using unsupervised and reinforcement learning techniques and probabilistic methods for object tracking

WHAT YOULL NEED

You will possess a strong understanding and knowledge of how to develop multi-modal computer vision and machine learning systems for perception, prediction, path planning and decision making to support the development of Autonomous Vehicles.

You will possess familiarity with software development platforms and version control. You will have the capability to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with medium-term planning.

We require an individual who works independently, are results-driven, demonstrates tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Excellent programming skills in Python
* Experience in using Matlab and C++
* Extensive knowledge in major Deep Learning libraries, for example, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Theano, Caffe
* Hands-on experience in using 3D Computer Vision libraries, for example, OpenCV, PCL
* Familiarity with agile frameworks and issue tracking software
* Hands-on experience in developing computer vision algos for range sensors, LiDARs, Radars
* Good experience in developing multi-modal sensor fusion algos, Cameras, LiDARs and Radars
* Hands-on experience in using classical non-deep learning-based computer vision algorithm
