WHAT TO EXPECT

Chassis CAE is one of JLRs SV Chassis teams, providing critical support for the development and delivery of all Chassis commodities to every JLR SV vehicle line. Working closely with SST, SSA, SWAT, Brakes, and Chassis module teams we are the Chassis Centre of Competence.

We work together to engineer world class Chassis Components, Systems and Attributes to deliver dynamic experiences that customers love for life.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Delivering Structural Analysis of Chassis Components, Systems and Interfaces in support of the JLR SVO Cycle Plan.

Working within the SVO Chassis Team and managing a team of CAE Analysts this role will be responsible for
Ensuring the Chassis Commodity Teams are supported with high quality CAE analsyis in support of component development, optimisation and sign off
Delivering detailed Finite Element Analysis Reports for Chassis structural components (e.g. Subframes, Knuckles, Suspension Links, Wheels, etc)
Delivering detailed assessment and reporting of Chassis interfaces
Delivering Vehicle/System Level Loads Analysis Reports for key Vehicle Extreme Events
Technical Review and Signatory responsibility for Finite Element Analysis Reports
Maintenance and Development of Analysis Procedures

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

As a CAE Group Leader you will be responsible for delivering required strength and durability assessments of parts and interfaces in support of the Chassis design and release timing requirements for all SV Programmes and, ensuring the Team delivers the highest quality analysis through use of robust input data, appropriate modelling, analysis and post processing methods. You will provide analysis in support of validation of re-use Core components on SV Vehicles.

WHAT YOULL NEED

The ideal candidate will have be an individual with a customer first mindset who is easy to do business with, transparent and dependable, and who works independently, is results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver in a demanding environment. Knowledge of automotive vehicle testing (Driven and Rig test), automotive chassis component rig testing, and experience with design and analysis of bolted joints is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Significant industry experience in Structural Finite Element Analysis of Components and Interfaces
Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges
Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders
Strong project management skills
Understanding of Programme delivery timescale (CCDS)
Previous experience of chassis component/system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targets
Knowledge of material properties, material selection and manufacturing processes
Proven ability to understand, interpret and clearly communicate Finite Element Analysis results
Competence in component development using engineering experience and CAE tools
Engineering Degree preferred
