Summary

As the COVID testing programme ramps up, the government has significantly increased the support that is needed. To support the service delivery of the COVID-19 testing labs, we are seeking to recruit Logistics and Waste Operatives in Leamington Spa.

You will provide a high quality, timely, responsive and proactive service to meet the needs of the contract. You will undertake tasks such as transporting stock, laundry items and waste internally within the Megalab in a safe and efficient manner.

You must be flexible to work on a shift pattern of and available to start immediately.

Sodexo reserves the right to alter the site location and close this advert early if we are in receipt of a high number of applications.

Package Description

Competitive hourly rate of £10
Successful candidates will need to be available to start in role immediately
Must be available to work night shifts between the hours of 10pm - 6am
Main Responsibilities

Provide a high quality Logistics and Waste Service, ensuring all tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
Provide an effective waste recycling and waste minimisation system, including the shredding, baling and compacting of waste
Undertake the movement of waste bins (including general and clinical waste) confidential waste, sharps waste whilst ensuring to maintain a high level of cleanliness at all times
Carry out all duties at the prescribed times and in compliance with the specific area policies and procedures at all times
Undertake the movement of mail, goods and materials across the site in line with both local site confidentiality polices and the caldicott principles
Manage stock inventory in the warehouse and store rooms, reporting on stock levels and maintaining stock levels in storerooms to predetermined and agreed minimum and maximum stock levels using the stock management system provided
Return items, including soiled laundry items, to be documented and processed, and handed over to the supplier or courier.
Ensure to adhere to Health and Safety and site guidelines and procedures at all times, always wearing the correct PPE as required
Undertake training on hand washing and ensure personal hygiene is maintained to a high level
Commitment to the work and to following the strict guideline and procedures required

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience in a manual handling role
Must be able to physically stand for several hours with good mobility
You must be over 18 and in general good health with no symptoms of COVID-19, nor must anyone in your household.
Native or bilingual proficiency level English
Commitment to the work and adhere to the strict guidelines and procedures required
Effective communication and customer care skills with visitors, clients, and staff
Ability to deal with clinical waste, smells, bodily excretions/fluids and dirt
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to deal with stressful situations

You must not be classified, or live with anyone classified, as belonging to any of the COVID-19 high risk groups (more detail can be found on the government website):

Must not have a long-term condition
Must not have immune deficiencies through medical conditions or therapy

Training and full personal protective equipment will be provided.
