Job description

This new temporary role will provide the successful candidate a chance to work with a leading brand in their field. As this Company develop their expansion plans they have identified the need to recruit an Assistant Planning Manager to compliment the current and future business plans.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Temporary Planning Manager Assistant will support the Planning Manager to ensure that strategic and operational plans at are achieved. The role will also assist the Planning Manager in managing and developing the customer and internal communications to ensure that the Company's targets and objectives are met, to meet customer requirements.

KEY TASKS

* Assist and support the Planning Manager with communications to the wider organisation and customers

* Organisation and prioritization of incoming email / calls

* Filter all calls and mails for actioning based on priority and distribute accordingly

* Aid the Planning Manager and planning team to improve overall operational performance & customer satisfaction.

* Utilise all forms of communication platforms when communicating

* Support and promote business improvements and drive efficiency with LEAN techniques

* Assist the Planning Manager in assessing, updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to them

* Support the Planning Manager in designing and developing key KPIs for each area of responsibility

* Prepare and develop management information regarding all activities within the Planning department as required

* Support Planning Manager with annual stock take

* Provide information to the Sales team and Customer Services regarding stock availability.

* Expedite deliveries from 3rd party suppliers and intercompany orders

* Participate in reviews of inventory holding and make recommendations for adjustments to safety stock levels.

* Develop the SAP system to achieve the best results in terms of delivery performance to the customer and help to spread best practice to all team members.

* Assist in the capacity and analysis of sales order releases. Produce daily report to customer services/sales personnel

* Proactively monitor every 2-4 hours the critical inventory report and communicate findings to relevant personnel

* In the absence of the planning manager, attend weekly operations meetings

* Engage weekly with our HQ to build relationships, collaborate on best practice planning methodologies and processes - document discussions

* Evaluate third party supplier performance (including transportation and late delivery costs)

* Construct a visual 'how to - step by step' learners workbook to ensure processes and procedures are documented and knowledge can be transferred at the end of the project

PERSON REQUIREMENTS

* Excellent knowledge of production, planning and organising skills with the ability to demonstrate successful plan delivery.

* Should have previous team leader / supply chain planning experience.

* Several years' experience in a similar administrative/supervisory role.

* Experience of working in the building or electrical automation industry.

* Strong working knowledge of SAP

* Understands and exploits continuous improvement methodologies
