Robert Walters - Public Sector Division - Financial Controller - Local Government - Up to 61,300 per annum

Role Type: Permanent

Location: West Midlands

Job Title: Head of Financial Planning and Analysis

Salary: Between 53,186 and 61,300 per annum depending on experience

Working: Warwickshire hybrid working

Sector: Candidates with a Public Sector or working for non-profit making organisations background are essential for this position

Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA - Essential

Duties of the Financial Controller:

The Financial Controller will work as part of the Inspire leadership team which is made up of the CEO, Assistant CEO and Directors.

Lead financial management and strategy, manage strategic programmes and projects and implement digital and technology strategies
Contribute to the corporate leadership and development of the organisation
Act as the senior finance professional within the organisation
Ensure the provision of timely and accurate financial information and analysis to assist in key decision making by the Board and Leadership Team
Guarantee that financial systems and procedures meet organisational needs in an agile way
Establish a programme management office to manage key strategic projects
Facilitate improved use of financial and performance data to support decision making and performance improvement
Deploy, monitor and manage assigned budgets
Build positive relationships with other staff, colleagues, and stakeholders, including Board members
Contribute to the overall strategic leadership and management of the organisation
Lead on agreed areas of contract and client management with partners, funders, providers, and suppliers
Oversee transactional finance, payroll and HR related functions, ensuring these are undertaken efficiently
Contribute to the business development of the organisation, including additional contracting, grant funding, gifting, donations, legacies and income generation
Ensure financial regulations and financial compliance is adhered to across the organisation
Handle VAT and other tax liabilities are managed and compliant with latest legislation
Planning and organising the strategic financial planning and risk management across the organisation
Ensure key areas of financial management including, budget management including production of management accounts for the Board, leadership of annual audit and delivery of statutory accounts, treasury management, financial risk management and financial compliance, strategic financial advice and support to leadership team, support and develop budget managers
Establish and embed robust financial transactions are undertaken to meet obligations
Provide transactional services including payroll, pension, and recruitment
Work with, and report to members of the Inspire leadership team, the board and funders as required
Identify best value and areas for efficiency \/ cost reduction \/ sustainable procurement
Inform the CEO of any changes in the strategic, professional, and operational environment including customer satisfaction issues
