Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity looking for a Chief Analyst for a 6 month interim contract that can be worked fully remotely.

Job Purpose:

The role will involve the candidate joining the Digital Trust to focus on a wide range of data and insight activities, from discovery to delivery, for three key areas:

  • Corporate clinical business analysis and data engineering
  • Workforce business analysis and data engineering
  • Creation of a digital and data business case for redesign of the business-as-usual Informatics and Digital teams

The role will provide innovation capacity to Trust's existing Informatics business as usual team and therefore the candidate will have a strong data engineering skillset working with raw datasets and engaging actively with key internal stakeholders including Operational Teams, Clinical Leadership Teams, Inclusion Network Chairs, to achieve the desired outcomes.

The post holder will be accountable to the Digital Strategy Director whilst also managing the expectations of the Executive Sponsors and key stakeholders across the three key areas. The post holder will need to have well developed interpersonal skills, given the level of engagement that will be required to deliver this role effectively.

The post holder is expected to work predominantly from home with equipment supplied by the Trust. However some onsite working is a requirement and the candidate will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the Trust.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong engagement skills developed by delivering solutions to Executive stakeholders;
  • Significant experience within the NHS of effectively translating and accurately communicating across technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as facilitating discussions within a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Strong collaborative and influencing style of working, ability to co-ordinate decisions from key stakeholders and negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes;
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering people related behaviour change and culture shifts to enable better data partnerships;
  • Demonstrable experience of working Datasets such as Summary Hospital-Level Mortality (SHMI), Secondary Uses Service (SUS), Emergency, Cancer, Maternity, Community and other National standard datasets;
  • Significant experience of working with NHS data standards and data schemas;
  • Significant experience within the NHS of sourcing and organising all business, information governance, and technical specification related to the data;
  • Significant experience within the NHS of leading user research / user testing with potential data customers to ensure the information is fit for purpose and understood;
  • Significant experience within the NHS of full data lifecycle from data modelling to delivery of analytics;
  • Significant experience within the NHS of providing the information asset owner / data owner a standard pack of information and briefing for their data assets;
