Contek are working with a versatile Client in Coventry, Cross-cutting a range of sectors, producing components of the highest quality, precisely machined to specifications. As a well-established cnc machining and tool shop, My Client have developed long-standing partnerships with market-leading companies locally and nationally, with a reputation of supplying high-quality components.

We are searching for a dynamic, target-driven and pro-active individual, with strong commercial awareness skills, who is capable of working in the capacity of an Estimator within the CNC machining industry. The ideal candidate must possess the experience and skills to prepare and submit accurate quotations for a variety of cnc machined components. Being able to demonstrate good people skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and colleagues is key to the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation and submission of quotations based on a commercial understanding of our machines and tooling.

• Preparing accurate job process sheets for CNC Operators

• Liaise with suppliers, such as, material and subcontractors to obtain best value in terms of cost, quality and turnaround times.

• Building on-going relationships with customers to fully understand the nature of their requirements in order to provide a value for money service.

• Liaise with internal managers to contribute towards ensuring the customer order requirements and deadlines are met.

• Manage customer accounts, including handling queries and administration.

• Evaluating profitability using timing data from completed jobs versus original quotation.

• Continually identifying new opportunities to increase sales and reduce costs

KEY SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings & models for estimation.

• Knowledge of CNC machining processes, primarily 3/5 axis Milling and Turning.

• Knowledge of sub-contracting processes

• Knowledge of industry standard and exotic materials.

• Experience of working with a variety of customers from diverse sectors.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic IT.

• Minimum 5 years experience estimating pricing in CNC precision machining
