Contek are working with a team of experts who provide In-Situ Machining to various contracts throughout the World. We are looking an experienced Supervisor to join their team in Coventry.
This position would be fully based at their facility in Coventry and would not require any travelling. (Must be commutable to Coventry)
Standard Day shift - Overtime Time and Half in Week - Double Time Weekends.
JOB TITLE: WORKSHOP FOREMAN
REPORTS TO: Works Manager
REPORTING TO HIM/HER: Toolstore Controller, W/S Assistant,
Other Temp W/S staff.
JOB DIMENSIONS:
To provide workshop support to the Onsite Machining Dept.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
By working in close co-operation with the Works Manager, Project Managers and Engineers ensure that the companies Personnel and material resources are used as efficiently as possible when in the workshop.
To consult on a daily basis with the Works Manager, Project Managers and Engineers to agree priorities and programme of work.
To control the storage, maintenance, receipt and despatch of all OSM machinery, equipment and tools.
To assist with the preparation, packing and despatch of equipment for OSM jobs.
To ensure that records are kept of equipment despatched to and returned from OSM jobs.
To assist in maintaining a register of equipment.
To assist with the setting up and operating of a planned maintenance system.
To undertake repairs and modifications to equipment.
To identify work that requires to be sub-contracted and to liaise with suppliers.
To coordinate with the machine shop charge hand to ensure timely completion of components required for specific
projects.
To ensure that the Company's administration procedures are correctly followed at all times.
To Comply with the companies HSE procedures
To ensure that protective clothing and equipment is properly used.
To ensure that safe practices are always followed in the workshop and on-site when applicable.
To be available for call out to provide workshop assistance out of hours to field staff.
To undertake other ad hoc duties as required.
To assist with training.
To control the maintenance and cleaning of company "Pool" vehicles.
We are looking for skilled tradesmen that have been apprentice trained in a heavy engineering environment and trained in the competent operation of medium to large workshop lathes, vertical borers, milling machines and particularly large horizontal boring machines - and have progressed into a more Senior position.
Previous experience of In-Place Machining work would be of distinct advantage in this application but not essential.

You will be supervising a small team of fitters on various projects. Your engineering knowledge will be challenged and expanded in all situations. You must have a "thinking outside the box mentality" and a "can do" attitude
