Job description

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced and skilled CNC Setter, with experience of Sliding Head Lathes, to join a long-established, Precision Engineering company in the Black Country.

CNC Setter (Sliding Head Lathe) - Precision Engineering
Location - Wednesbury
Salary - c£28,000 - £30,000 per year

This role will suit people who have experience of setting and operating Sliding Head Lathes, maybe with some basic program editing, but that isn't essential.

The successful CNC Setter will be responsible for the following:

Setting and operating Star Sliding Head lathes
Ensuring output is on time and to the right quality
Trouble shooting where there is an issue with tooling, scrap, quality, stoppages etc (either with own knowledge or by fetching another member of the team who can help)
The successful CNC Setter will have the following skills and experience:

You must have experience of setting Sliding Head Lathes, ideally Star machines, but Citizen experience would be fine.
Experience of working in a high volume manufacturing environment on runners and repeaters, and ensuring output meets all objectives (quality, on time in full, minimal waste etc)
Maybe you will come from a bolt, screw or fastening background, or a small intricate precision engineering background.

Opportunity:
Our client is part of a multinational manufacturing group, and this position is based at their site in Wednesbury, in the heart of the Black Country. With a hard-working but easy-going and friendly team, they are looking to expand the team with the appointment of this key role.

You will receive a salary based on an hourly rate of circa £13-£14 per hour, so circa £28k-30k per annum, and you will work Monday to Thursday 7.30 - 4, and 7.30 - 1 on a Friday. There is the opportunity for overtime, including Saturdays.
