Assistant accountant

Job description

A motor dealership in Leeds are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on an initial 3 month contract with possibility of becoming permanent if you meet the needs of the company well.

Some duties include:

Provide the Accountant with financial support to drive operational performance in all aspects of accounts in the dealership.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, reconcile various balance sheets and monitor daily cash movement.
Assist the Accountant in the delivery of timely and accurate management accounts and their integration into the Group's standard structures.
Follow instructions, processes and controls to maximise returns and cash flow and utilise financial and management experience to ensure the effective running of the department.
Fully understand Vertu policies and procedures in order to manage policy and processes, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and legible and that it follows and complies with Group policy.
Support additional ad-hoc duties as required.

Essential Criteria:

Intermediate IT literacy including Microsoft packages: Word and Excel
Previous experience in an Accounts role
Numeracy and literacy skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Require strong planning and organising skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong team player

Desirable Criteria:

* Kerridge Knowledge and Experience

This is a full-time office based role offering an immediate start.

Job type: Full-time, Temporary to possible permanent

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
