Your new role

Are you an ambitious, technically strong qualified Accountant who is Practice trained and looking for a first step into a commercial environment? or perhaps you're a Financial Accountant with experience of statutory and tax accounting who is looking to take the next step up?

Our client has created a brand-new opening for a Technical Accountant with 3 years PQE to join them as their in-house expert on all aspects of group wide technical accounting advice and reporting requirements for their brands. In this high-profile role, you'll join their newly created group Finance shared service capability which supports their Home Collect Credit and Digital divisions at a key stage in shaping the regulatory reporting environment across their group. You'll have group accounting experience as well as experience advising on or reporting under IFRS9 or IFRS16. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing, AIM listed, people centric Finance business, in a role offering high level exposure and interaction with the FD and CFO.

Reporting into the Head of Group Reporting, you will have a significant level of responsibility, leading on the production of Annual Financial Statements, Regulatory reports and the delivery of all technical accounting requests.

Key responsibilities include;

* Lead on technical reporting requirements including interim and year end reporting
* Liaise with the external Auditors on technical issues and year end planning,
* Provide technical accounting advice to the Finance team and the group wide business
* Work with the Group Reporting Manager in the preparation and consolidation of the Group accounts
* Manage the quarterly payments and annual corporation tax computations and HMRC submissions across the Group
* Manage and review the quarterly VAT reporting and payments

In addition, you will strive to ensure adequate Financial Controls are in place, encourage an attitude of continuous service improvement and actively contribute to and advise on business issues, projects and new initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified Accountant (3 years PQE) with outstanding knowledge of reporting standards excellent analytical skills and previous experience of statutory and tax reporting in a large group (\u00A3100m+)

An excellent communicator and well organised with advanced Excel skills and forensic attention to detail.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are highly proficient in prioritising activities and developing realistic plans to achieve objectives within appropriate deadlines and understand the team's overall priorities and assist in achievement of those goals.
