Salary: Band 3 ( as per 2021/22 NHS pay scale - £20,330 - £21,777 pro rota)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust diabetes service on a Fixed Term contract. Based with the innovative community team, you will play a vital role in supporting the dynamic and evolving community intermediate diabetes service. We are fully integrated with the Acute Trust based diabetes team and the post also supports the delivery of a wide range of diabetes services in a variety of settings.
Brief Description of the Role:
Working as a member of the Diabetes Service the post holder will be responsible for the provision of interpretation and translation in South East Asian languages (Punjabi, Urdu and Bengali) for the Health Care Professionals working within the Specialist Diabetes and Intermediate Care Diabetes services.
The post holder will also become a member of the Patient Diabetes Structured Education delivery team by delivering directly or supporting the delivery of accredited group education programmes for people with Type 2 Diabetes.
The post holder will also undertake simple specified clinical tasks to support the efficient delivery of clinical care under the supervision of the Diabetes Specialist Nursing team.
You will also support the smooth running of the community diabetes service by undertaking specified administration tasks such as making arrangements with patients over the phone under the supervision of the Diabetes Specialist Nursing team or Administration Team Manager.
Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:
Interpretation / translation vocational qualification - minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
GCSE level or equivalent including English and Maths at grade C or above
