Job description

Yorkshire based leading Regional Contractor specialising in multiple sectors including (Office / Hotel & Leisure / Education / Healthcare) is seeking an experienced and committed Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis.

In return they are offering a starting salary in the region of £45,000 per annum plus a company car allowance, a contributory pension scheme and 22 days plus stats holiday entitlement. Also this Estimator opportunity is offering a significant amount of career development as the company is looking to expand their commercial team moving forward.

In this role you will be responsible for the preparing of cost estimates, organising bids, communicating with clients, colleagues, engaging with suppliers and sub-contractors to determine the financial needs of completing a project.

You will be required to use fit-out industry experience and knowledge to provide detailed estimates for client projects, including full written cost estimates entailing labour, plant, material build ups, and preliminaries.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED FROM YOU AS THE ESTIMATOR;

* Attend tender presentations for new projects, contribute, lead commercially and present alongside the Commercial team

* Develop an initial concept budget and prepare a detailed cost plan for the company's Sales Lead to agree with the client

* Assess the type of tender, client and closing date to determine prioritisation of all tender

* Prepare cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts

* Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analysing and providing estimations; focus on maximising profit and customer satisfaction, while minimising any potential risks to the company

* Prepare detailed, wellwritten proposals for each client, adhering to client guidelines offering competitive and comprehensive cost estimates, and including supplementary documentation

* Work with contracts teams and design team to help with development, innovation, and creativity onclient projects

* Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract ters

* Work with the client on all changes in scope, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS THE ESTIMATOR;

* Have a minimum of 5 years continuous and current experience within a similar role

* Main contractor background, ideally with significant experience with design and build fit outs

* Ability to travel when required throughout the UK to attend site visits, project meetings, etc.

* Understanding of JCT Contracts

* Proven track record in securing wins for £1+ million blue chip fit out projects and been delivered to the expected profit margins or better
