Who you are matters

We look for logical thinkers. People who can find creative solutions to challenging problems. Resourceful and hardworking, you'll know how to manage your own time to get things done. You'll be a natural communicator, capable of building relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers alike. And with the potential for training and development opportunities throughout the country, you'll be flexible, and comfortable traveling.

What you'll be doing matters

As Britain's biggest consumer of electricity, and one of the biggest telecoms providers, we're constantly striving to find smarter and more renewable energy technologies as we push ourselves to be greener and more resilient. You'll work with the team that plays a leading role in this vital mission. Expect to get your hands on cutting-edge technology, and the chance to widen your knowledge of where the fields of signalling and telecommunications are going next.

You'll also play a role in improving our safety standards, reducing journey times, and coming up with innovative solutions to the most important issues of our time.

Whether you're playing a part in delivering ambitious improvements to track equipment, or rejuvenating and servicing our current infrastructure, this placement will offer plenty of scope to apply your theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges.

You'll be supported at every step by colleagues, mentors, and fellow students.

What you'll get out of it matters

We're passionate about developing the next generation of talent that will come into our industry, and that means we'll ensure you're surrounded by supportive colleagues, and receive coaching from senior staff.
