Job Title: IT Project Manager

Location: Doncaster

Hourly Pay Rate: £16.97-£21.66

Length of the contract: until 31/03/22

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint an IT project manager to manage the delivery of projects that support the development of the Clients' Digital Transformation Strategy in various working environments.

Duties

Manage a portfolio of 2 to 3 projects, ranging from the more complex, which may involve multiple divisions and departments, to simple ones that involve rolling out new hardware.
Work with Divisions, Departments and Users to analyse and specify user requirements for future Digital Transformation developments, new systems and upgrades to existing systems. This includes managing the procurement process, in conjunction with the Clients' supplies department, to ensure that local, national and European procurement rules are followed.
As part of managing and leading the procurement process, the post holder will be required to prepare and lead meetings with stakeholders, which will include presentations.
Proactively seek ways that Information Technology may enable clinical professionals to deliver the service improvements.
In the absence of the Head of IT Programmes & Development, to be responsible for the day to day supervision and co-ordination of any Assistant IT Project Managers who may be in post
Research, investigate, test and where relevant, implement the use of new software tools to support the overall management of projects.

Qualifications

Hold a relevant degree or have substantial equivalent experience in informatics.

Knowledge & Experience

Experience of coordinating or planning activities for a group(s) of staff.
Experience of working within a framework of local or national policies, strategies or guidelines
Knowledge, understanding and experience of programme and project management within a PRINCE 2 environment.
Experience of preparing project/programme documentation e.g. Business Cases, Project Initiation Documents, Project Plans, Highlight Reports, Exception Reports within a PRINCE 2 environment.
Technical knowledge (including knowledge of equipment) - of ICT systems. Understanding of ICT system protocols and technologies, together with multi-site ICT environments.
Communicating both orally and Written across organisations and with third parties. With the confidence and ability to explain complex and technical issues to specialist and non-technical staff.
Ability to identify a clear view of job role, responsibilities, objectives, scope and opportunities.
Continuous development of own skills, knowledge and experience in order to improve personal performance.
Analytical and numerate
The post holder will particularly be expected to have extensive knowledge of the European procurement rules.
