Job description

Novax Recruitment is currently looking for a Project Manager to join a leading Heavy steelwork specialist designing, manufacturing, and constructing bridges, high ways and Rail Structures.

We will be looking for a candidate to join on a permanent basis to manage and oversee the heavy steelwork installation on a number of our up and coming projects.

The company is well known in the Railway and Highways Industry working alongside various Tier 1 Contractors, so this would be a great position for someone who has experience in the steelwork industry and would like to apply their skills, knowledge and experience on other well-known, large scale projects.

Projects are likely to include the installation of:

Railway Stations (Access For all Schemes)
Rail Bridges
Footbridges
Road Bridges
Lift Shafts
Platform Canopies
Staircases
Gantries
Railway Maintenance Depots
Structural Steelwork Repairs on existing Bridges or Infrastructure
Temporary Works
Bearings
Requirements/ability;

Plater/Fabricator Experience would be of interest
Estimating Experience would be of interest
Hands on attitude to assist the installation team when required
Excellent knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings, structural steelwork drawings, connection details and specifications of various quality
Ability to site survey and provide detailed information for fabrication and installation
Ability to coordinate the Design; Production & Installation of Projects; fully understand the project requirements/scope of works/specifications etc.
Ability to liaise with Clients Project Team and Designers
Ability to manage various site installation teams ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Ability to produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Positive attitude to problem solving and dealing with staff of all levels
Could be a steel foreman/Supervisor looking for a step up to management
AP Experience would be of interest
Crane Supervisor (desirable not essential)
SMSTS
SSSTS
CPCS (desirable not essential)
PTS (Ideally needed but could be completed following the appointment - Drugs/Alcohol Medical will be required)
IPAF
PASMA
OLEC 1 (Minimum but not essential. Training could be provided once onboard)
Weekend Possession Working will be essential on key possession blockades
Night Working might will be required depending on the type of work we are undertaking.
Role will require visits to site but will be expected to be office based when not on siteFor this, we can offer a perm role .upto £45,000 Hours 39 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday.
