The role

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to provide additional support interventions to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in a mainstream secondary school in Calderdale. The post is on a temp-to-perm basis to start January 2022. Although full-time, we will consider applications from candidates only available on a part-time basis.

Support will be based in small-groups or on a 1:1 basis. The position would include liaising collaboratively with colleagues and outside agencies to ensure the correct support is in place for identified learners. You will be passionate and proactive, capable of building good relationships with pupils and staff.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

Have previous experience working with young people
Have a high level in literacy and numeracy
Have a flexible approach to work and able to think on your feet
Be confident and have a positive approach that engages students in their learning
Have excellent classroom management skills
