Further information
Female Personal Assistant(s) are required for a disabled lady in the HU6 area of Hull. This lady has epilepsy, learning and mobility disabilities and requires 24 hour care. The appointed Personal Assistant(s) will be part of a team of PAs and will be part of a shift system working. Potential PAs will be responsible for delivering personalised care and support in order to maintain health.

Duties will include:
Assisting with Personal care such as washing, dressing, grooming.
Daily activities in the home in order to maintain a clean environment.
Supporting nutrition - Provide support as required with preparation of meals/drinks.
Provide necessary assistance/support with eating and drinking.
Providing support to assist to access areas within the community.
Providing support to assist to engage in a range of social activities within the home environment or within the community.
Maintaining a hygienic and safe environment
Assist the main carer/Employer in maintaining a clean home environment.
Ensure all reasonable practical measures are in place in order to maintain a safe environment.
Manual Handling including Assisting with positional changes within a variety of settings (with training and support).
Use of equipment and aids
Having a warm friendly disposition is a key requirement. Applicants should also have a genuine interest in working with disabled people, be honest and trustworthy, and have a confident nature. In addition applicants should be good at communicating, and be able to build good relationships with people, based on trust and respect. The applicant must be flexible in their approach to work, willing to follow the directions of a disabled person and employer and like a job that can be demanding but varied. Communication skills are important as PAs will be expected to communicate effectively with the employer and ensure any concerns / issues are communicated and discussed.
On occasions you may be required to be flexible in respect of your place of employment and work at a variety of sites to ensure that this lady's care needs are met. For example if this lady has to relocate to another property or is admitted to hospital, care will still need to be provided and you will be expected to work anywhere within a 15 mile radius of your current workplace.
