Summary

Further information:
A Personal Assistant is required to support a young man in his early 20's living in the Greatfield Estate area of the city. This young man has Cerebral Palsy and he uses an electric wheel chair. He requires a PA who is willing to provide personal care and therefore this position is open to male applicants only. He has a good understanding however he does require time when speaking. He enjoys Rugby and is a Hull FC fan, he also likes music, using his computer, shopping and days out at the seaside. The appointed PA will be a companion and facilitator for enjoying a variety of pastimes and outings. The PA will ideally be enthusiastic, intelligent and creative and able to support this young man to maximize his independence. Applicants must be flexible in their approach to work, like a job that can be demanding but varied, and have a strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled young people in their local communities. Applicants should also be honest and trustworthy, have a confident nature with the ability to remain calm, be good at communicating, and be able to build good relationships with people, based on trust and respect. They must also be willing to follow the directions of this young man's mother.
Car driver preferred, but own vehicle not required.
