Job description

My Client, a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy, is searching for a Flood Alleviation Engineer to join their Civil Engineering Team based in York.

This exciting role will offer candidates the chance to work on varied Flood Alleviation, Flood Defence Schemes, Drainage and Flood Risk Projects for new housing developments, bespoke builds and commercial lots across the North of England.

As a Flood Alleviation Engineer, you will be expected to complete the following;

Detailed design of Flood Alleviation Schemes and Flood Defence Schemes including river diversions, embankments and natural flood risk management.

Attenuation and Discharge Control.

Drainage Strategies and SuDS Design using Causeway Flow and Microdrainage.

Flood Risk Assessments for new and existing developments in flood zone 1 and 2.

You will work with various Public and Private Sector Clients including Housing Developers and Local Authorities.

Candidates are required to have a strong academic background in Civil or Environmental Engineering and experience completing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and Flood Alleviation Design.

Candidates are also required to have experience using Microdrainage or Causeway or AutoCAD.

It is also beneficial for applicants to have experience completing river engineering design including weirs or embankment design.
