INTERVENTIONS AND CATCH UP TEACHING ASSISTANT JOB

A larger than average Primary School in Garforth are seeking some additional support from January until at least Easter to help them deliver small group and one to one interventions in Reading, Literacy and Numeracy to help pupils "catch up" following the gaps they've had in their education due to the pandemic.

This role will involve working with a variety of pupils to help them hit their targets including the lower ability, SEN and EAL but also pushing the higher achieving pupils to achieve their goals.

The school is an incredible place, all the staff are hardworking, friendly and driven to get the best for all the pupils in their care. They have a close knit team across the three classes in KS1 with lots of experience to draw from. They use a "continuous provision" approach giving children the opportunity to learn through activities and play.

We work in close partnership with this school and have a number of TA's and Teachers who have worked there recently - and they love it! They love the fantastic staff, the supportive Head and the polite, hardworking and engaged pupils.

The role will involve:
- Supporting the teacher with whole class lessons
- Helping the Teacher set up each day for the lessons and activities
- Engaging with the children when the access the areas of provision
- Leading small group interventions on Literacy and Numeracy
- One to one work where required
- Listening to children read
- Managing class behaviour
