MEP Design Engineer

Full Time Permanent

Are you an experienced MEP Engineer with off-site construction experience? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join this growing Design Team as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer.

What you will be doing

You will reporti to the Associate MEP Engineer, and be responsible for designing and developing building services and engineering solutions for new products and site-based projects. You will continuously develop technical solutions and improve engineering integration as directed by the Design Director taking into account the agreed brief including cost targets, programmes, and relevant regulations in line with the strategic vision.

Duties include:

Engaging with and technically influencing the building services design of the modular product portfolio, its design, development and execution.
Preparing reports, designs and drawings.
Producing design calculations to relevant codes of practice and current legislation/guidance.
Reviewing and critiquing technical submissions from designers, suppliers and contractors.
Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken in the factory and site environments to ensure installation standards and compliance with regulations.
Using computer aided design technology for simulation purposes.
Obtaining planning, building regulations and third-party approval for modular housing products.

We are looking for individuals that have the following skills and knowledge:

Degree qualified (BEng, Meng or MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Working towards professional recognition such as CEng (Chartered Engineer)
Knowledge of the modular/off-site construction sector and the relevant construction methodologies and associated codes / standards.
Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
Skilled at using 3D modelling and 2D drafting packages.

You will:

Be a strong communicator with an ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
Be a natural analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Have meticulous attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Be familiar with industry design software such as Revit and Inventor etc.
