The Role

Vision for Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Teacher for Key Stage 1&2 to work in local Pupil Referral Units schools across Redcar, starting in January. Teaching in multiple schools across the region in a supportive and friendly specialist setting, with children aged 11 to 16 who require additional support with Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder, Social Emotional and Mental Health challenges. Working in a Pupil Referral Units is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous Pupil Referral Units Teaching experience or Newly Qualified Teacher Status (NQTS) looking to gain exposure in a Pupil Referral Units environment. Someone with NQTS is the chance to gain further experience and develop teaching skills in a Pupil Referral Units environment.

The school

The specialist schools cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. The schools offer brilliant facilities and resources, and the staff pride themselves on their child-centred approach. Most schools we work with have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Requirements

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Teacher role you must:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Newly Qualified Teaching Status (NQT)
Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential.
A DBS Certificate is an advantage but not essential, this can be arranged.
Be Comfortable with personal care in numerous settings.
Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential.
