Job Title: Payroll Officer

Hourly Pay Rate: Band 4 (£11.53 £12.73 depending on experience)

Contract Length: Open- Ended

Hours: Full-time (part-time may be considered)

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a Payroll Officer on behalf of our client based in Rotherham. The post holder will assist the Head of Payroll with the provision of an efficient and effective payroll service.

Responsibilities

Ensure a high quality, efficient and cost-effective service is provided to the Trusts.
Ensure accurate input into the ESR system within the required deadlines of sensitive and personal employee information, including starter, leaver and changes onto ESR, ensuring that employee records are accurate and up to date, so maintaining a high-quality information system for the Trusts in line with Statutory regulations relating to the Payroll and HR functions.
To take a proactive approach to data quality and perform "housekeeping" functions to ensure local records are in line with the records held on ESR. To analyse, verify & apply data prepared by the team to ensure amended records are correct.
To ensure that the agreed timescales are met in all instances by managing priorities. To use ESR in order to produce accurate and timely payments to employees of the Trusts across weekly, Bi-monthly and Monthly payrolls.

Applicant Criteria

In depth knowledge of ESR system.
In depth knowledge of the IT systems that interface and underpin the ESR system.
In depth knowledge of statutory Government legislation.
Knowledge of NHS Pension Scheme Regulations
Proven IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft office functionality
Advance keyboard skills
Good communication skills. (written, oral and interpersonal)
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Able to multi-task and continue to function to a high standard when under pressure.
Able to communicate well, liaise with people at all levels within and outside the HR Shared Service
Skills in the supervision of staff.
