Job description

REQUIREMENTS:

To prepare, plan and execute laboratory analysis and sampling & calibration procedures for routine and non routine processes in all areas.

To assist and support on and off site duties undertaken routinely or non-routinely across all chemistry team areas sampling and testing of environmentally and process related systems.

To support and develop new testing procedures and protocols, taking an active role in training and development, to achieve continued improvement and effectively contributing to the Chemistry team.

Performing testing services professionally and effectively to produce accurate and precise results to meet customer expectations, following the UKAS ISO17025 quality system. To compile results and analytical reports and communicate effectively Ensure standards of safety and housekeeping are maintained.

Plan and conduct workload in a professional manner working under supervision and on own initiative as appropriate.

PERSON DIMENSIONS:

· Experienced in laboratory testing, ideally qualified in a related subject

· Experienced in operating analytical testing equipment.

· Has the knowledge and skills to support work on new or developing techniques.

· Have a good knowledge of sampling and analysis requirements to UKAS ISO17025 Standard.

· Works to written or verbal instructions accurately and efficiently.

· Have good communications skills and be computer literate.

· To act under own initiative within local written or verbal instructions, also within their competence to carry out assigned duties showing due regard to safety, quality, legislation and Management instructions.
