Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently partnered with a large, specialist manufacturing business near Selby who are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer due to extensive growth. Reporting into the Quality Manager aspiring QA team, providing professional & independent supplier quality management & product inspection ensuring our products are the best in the market & affordable.

Duties & responsibilities:

* To play a key role in a small team of Supplier Quality Engineers & Inspectors
* Manage Supplier development, interaction, & oversight of existing suppliers
* Work with procurement on bringing in new suppliers
* Development of professional working relationships with suppliers & be the interface on quality matters including specification requirements, verification of compliance & areas of responsibility
* Plan, implement and conduct Supplier Audits (2nd Party) to improve processes, reduce risk and assure compliance
* Ensure clear communication with suppliers & identify opportunities for supplier development
* Supplier development following APQP/PPAP & all technical requirements
* Develop & apply statistical techniques to support process management
* Develop & apply work practices including FMEA, MSA & PPAP
* To define, document & control quality inspection & validation processes, procedures & product acceptance specifications where needed
* Introduce the application of quality tools & techniques to facilitate the monitoring, reporting & resolution of quality issues
* Conduct inspections, independent test witnessing & First Article Inspection Reports (on site or at suppliers) when required - must be willing & able to travel
* To ensure that detailed records of supplier management & product inspection are documented & maintained
* To support Goods In Quality Inspectors
* Demonstrate strict adherence & compliance with defined Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies & procedures, ensuring that HSE is at the heart of the business culture & that your actions & behaviours in fulfilling your role lead to zero harm & a safe working environment for colleagues & visitors

I'm keen to speak to individuals with the following skillset:

* Extensive experience in supplier quality
* Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, FMEA & MSA
* Knowledge of welding, metalworks & fabrication processes & inspections
* Ability to conduct Supplier Audits on new & existing Suppliers
* Ability to use metrology equipment (verniers, micrometres etc.)
* Ability to read & interpret architectural & engineering drawings, including interpreting tolerances & critical to quality features
* Ability to produce accurate dimensional & FAIRS (First Article Inspection) reports
* Able to demonstrate quality inspections in a manufacturing experience
* Ability to identify non-conforming products
* Basic knowledge of Non-Conformances & Concessions/Production Permits
* Ability to identify & understand the root cause of dimensional variation & product quality issues
* Basic understanding of ISO9001, ISO45001
* Must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own car
* Must be willing to travel
