Job description

Hemingways are looking for a Warehouse Operative - Line Leader to join our growing, friendly team.

The Warehouse Operative - Line Leader plays a crucial role in assembling gift packages while ensuring a high standard of quality presentation and attention to detail is met at all times in order to achieve and exceed clients and customers expectations. You will also be responsible for keeping your line productive at all times and that the goods are packed and despatched to an excellent standard.

This is is varied and rewarding role requiring excellent attention to detail, focussing on the delivery of carefully packaged and distributed confectionery gifts.

Trading since 1947, 'linking people with brands' is at the heart of what we do. We specialise in e-commerce, sales, and distribution, representing many major UK and international brands, promoting and selling their products to consumers and corporate markets. We are also home to Voucher Express, Vex Rewards, Cadbury Gifts Direct and Green & Black's.

Main duties include

- Assembling gift packages, applying high standards of quality, presentation and attention to detail.

- Keeping the line productive and clean.

- Ability to work to a fast pace without sacrificing quality and presentation standards.

- Pro-actively communicate with colleagues and line leaders about issues e.g. stock items running low.

- Ensuring hygiene and housekeeping standard are met and exceeded.

- Responsible for your own health and safety and watching out for the health & safety of others.

- You are responsible for your own PPE and the washing of it.

- Responsible in ensuring product safety, legality and quality systems are adhered to and implemented as per relevant industry standards including BRC.

- Completing paperwork necessary of the line.

- Keeping traceability sheets and QC samples.

- Despatch and coordinate orders with use of a scanning system.

- Assist in the training of new and temporary employees.

- Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the employer.

Requirements:

- GCSE's to include Maths and English at Grade C/4 above or equivalent.

- Previous warehouse and distribution experience.

- Ability to work to strict deadlines.

- Strong mathematical skills.

- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the Company.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team.

- Flexibility around working hours, especially in the weeks leading to key holidays.
