Job description

MAIN DUTIES:

* To conduct Housing Disrepair surveyors and produce reports in accordance with the Code of Practice for Experts and the Requirements of the RICS - Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, as set down in the RICS practice statement "Surveyors acting as expert witness" and Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.

* Reports are to confirm the defects present, the cause of the defects, the age, character and prospective life of the property, a schedule of works and an estimate of the cost of those works. Consideration should be given to S11 and S9A of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and detailed within the report.

* Exercise reasonable care and skill in order to produce arcuate reports and to not deviate from the company template.

* Appreciate your duty to the court and that this duty overrides any obligation to the party by whom you are instructed or paid. This is a continuing duty.

* Attend inspections punctually and as per TimeTree calendar, well presented in smart attire with relevant equipment to conduct survey and ID.

* Attend Joint Inspections and liaise with the Landlord's surveyor in a professional manner and liaise thereafter to produce a joint Scott's schedule/report.

* Provide an excellent level of client care throughout.

* Reports to be completed within 7 days of inspection and sent to the RIC's inbox.

* Escalate any risks, complaints or areas of uncertainty to your reporting line manager.

* Should Part 35 questions be asked by either party, these should be attended to promptly and professionally and within 7 days of receipt.

* Comply with any court directions and requirements for you to attend as an expert witness and/or take part in expert discussions.

* Comply with all firm policy and producers at any given time
