Job description

If you are an Engineering Graduate with an interest in metrology and a passion for quality we have a great opportunity for a driven, enthusiastic Graduate Quality Engineer to join the team at DENSO Marston in Shipley, West Yorkshire. The role will have a focus on driving excellence and process improvement activity within all aspects of metrology across the facility, optimising current processes and apply new technologies to bring about effectiveness and efficiency improvement.

Working Hours/Benefits

Mon - Thurs: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am - 1:30pm

Flexi-time of 30 minutes at either side of the core hours are available Mon - Thurs

Key Responsibilities

Optimisation of CMM programming to reduce inspection time and improve accuracy of results
Creation of optimized programs, prove out and verification
Offline programming of CMM and metrology equipment
Manage the calibration process to improve our ability to complete calibrations to schedule, improve calibration pass rates, reduce waste within the process and reduce associated calibration costs
Measurement systems analysis - Manage & develop the measurement systems analysis process & schedule; ensuring MSA studies are performed on time, to schedule
Management of corrective actions where reduction in gauge and measurement system variation is identified, continual improvement in gauge risk level and capability
Conduct MSA studies
Identify, source and implement new technologies to provide metrology solutions to meet product validation & verification requirements as well as drive a reduction in inspection wait times
Provide operational support for gauging and metrology issues
Program and optimize in process Faro arms and gauging methods to minimize operational impact
Continually develop on site metrology practices in line with new technologies
Create training plans and schedule to develop the flexibility within the metrology teams, ensure technical competence and ongoing assessmentRequired Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Understanding and knowledge of current and future metrology technologies and potential applications
Knowledge of measurement systems analysis and statistical techniques
Knowledge of GD&T
Possess a hands-on, can-do, practical and dynamic approach along with a broad engineering knowledge
