Job description

Purpose This job description details responsibilities for the Manager of Construction, reporting to the Engineering and Projects Manager.

Primary purpose of role

The Manager of Construction is responsible for providing direction and control during the execution of projects within client Engineering Consultants covering the full project lifecycle from pre-FEED through to EPC ensuring a safe, fit for purpose construction execution strategy model is delivered in line with corporate safety goals and principles.
Major duties
? Develop Construction execution strategies in line with industry best practice and px corporate safety principles including Zero Harm (People, Environment, Asset & Reputation) and lifesaving rules.
? Interface with corporate HSE and support any corporate improvement initiatives.
? General Construction Management requirements across client Engineering Consultants (Home offices - Stockton and Saltend, plus responsible Construction sites).
? Support Business Winning incl. capability presentations, generation of early construction execution strategies and associated service estimates.
? Recruitment, including project Construction Managers, HSE Leads, Construction Superintendents, Quality Leads, Material Controllers et al).
? Provide HO Construction support during pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design.
? Develop fit for purpose Construction Execution Strategies covering HSE, Industrial Relations, Quality, Material Management, Completions & Handover, Heavy Lift & Transportation Studies and CDM Responsibilities et al.
? Support development of project schedules, in particular Construction phase P6 project programmes.
? Roll out and lead Construction Execution during EPC phase.
? Site establishment set up - setting expectations/ best practices aligned to px Corporate HSE policies, practices and principles incl. work control systems.
? Delivery of Modularisation/ PAU assessments & strategies early in the project life cycle.
? Chair Constructability reviews & HAZCONs, and general construction input to design during FEED & Detail Design phases aligned to construction execution plans.
? Support Procurement Process: PQQ, input to Sub-contracts Scope of Work incl. HSE requirements, Site requirements, TBE & post order support.
? Deliver responsible construction scope on-time-in-full, schedule and cost (as-sold).
? Man Power Planning for responsible Team.
? Site Auditing (Governance incl. Safety) during EPC phase and resolution on NCRs.
