About the role

Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Payroll Team as a Payroll Assistant, based at our office in Wakefield. This is a permanent part time role working 22.5 hours per week, £20,187 pro rata salary dependant on experience.

You will work as a member of the Sense Payroll team ensuring that our payroll procedures are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.

Your duties include:
Assist with the processing of monthly payrolls, including post changes, starters, leavers, statutory payments/deductions, input of monthly overtime, etc.
Assist with the production and distribution of payroll reports and payslips.
Answering queries from internal (HR, managers, employees) and external (Government Departments, Banks/Building Societies, Pension Providers) agencies.
Filing and archiving of payroll input and reports.
Key skills and experience required
Experience of using PC based payroll systems and MS Office
Proven recent experience of working in a payroll environment
Experience of working in a customer focussed environment and an understanding of good customer service
Some knowledge of HMRC (PAYE & NIC) legislation
Good organisational skills, including good time management and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
