Team Manager Youth Justice

Powys Youth Justice Service is a small team of multi-agency professionals. We share a passion for helping and supporting children and their families and victims of youth crime, to improve their lives and make communities safer. To do this, we work hard to prevent and reduce youth crime by pro-active engagement, providing creative and effective interventions and programmes which are restorative, trauma informed and which take a whole family approach.

In this varied and exciting post you will play an important role which is integral to the team and will…

• Manage and support a team of multi-agency staff to ensure the delivery of services to children and young people at risk of or who are already in the youth justice system.
• Ensure that service delivery satisfies the needs of those children and young people, their families, communities and the necessary standards laid down by the Youth Justice Board.
• Be responsible to the Senior Manager and work in partnership with Powys County Council, Dyfed Powys Police, National Probation Service and Powys Teaching Health Board.

To be successful in this new post, you will have…

• Knowledge and experience of working within a youth justice setting.
• Proven experience of supervising and line managing staff.
• An appropriate qualification i.e. Diploma in Social Work or equivalent Social Work or partner agency qualification.
• A Management qualification at level 7 or commitment to undertake a level 7 qualification within 12 months of taking up post.
