Facility Director - Brand New Laboratory - Head of Operations

We have an exciting opportunity available as a Facilities Director for a growing Biotechnology company based in The Netherlands. This position will be instrumental in facilitating the continued expansion of the organization maintaining the greatest laboratory and working environment.

*Responsibilities*

The Facilities Director will be developing and leading facility strategies for the site in The Netherlands. This will be initiating an exciting project coordinating the move of the Global Head Quarters to a new state of the art building. Responsible for leading a team comprising of two sociable and hands on colleagues with the goal of creating the best working environment for the organization ensuring all laboratory and office processes run smoothly and efficiently.

* Management of all activities relating to the operation and maintenance of company infrastructure, installations and buildings in close cooperation with lab management

* Coordination of activities relating to the fitting of a brand new facility and subsequent relocation to this facility.

* Development, Implementation and management of Biological, Environmental, Health and Safety policies/procedures, benchmarks, safety programs etc. to ensure compliance, injury prevention and risk mitigation

* Budget responsibility for the facility to ensure accurate spending, projections and identification of significant capital spend requirements during budget preparation and coordination of negotiations with vendors and third-party contractors

* Successfully working with project managers, general contractors, furniture vendors, and architects for all corporate facility projects.

* Setting up new procedures and processes for the facilities department and implementing process improvements.

*Requirements*

* Experience as a manager within facilities management. Most suitable would be within a rapidly growing and fast paced organization.

* Experience in Facilities Management and Operations within a Biological Laboratory

* Understanding of legislation relevant for operation of laboratories (Chemical, environmental, biological etc.)

* Dutch and English speaker
