Guy Carpenter Benelux is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Rotterdam office:Assistant Reinsurance BrokerWhat can you expect?As part of the Treaty Broking Team of Guy Carpenter Benelux you will be in charge of providing support to our Senior Colleagues for all broking related activities, from Portfolio to Claims Management.For each account attributed to you, you will be working with the lead broker to contribute responding to client requests, conduct research, prepare renewal submissions, and ultimately assist with negotiations and strategic presentations. If you thrive on a challenge and enjoy connecting with people, we are looking for you!We will count on you to:Work as a team with senior brokers and the rest of the Benelux team in order to develop superior services to our clients.Work on Clients (Insurers) portfolios and claims data, and structure them in a proper way for either processing through proprietary tools or for Reinsurance Renewals purposes.Work on summaries, presentation and reports to internal and external clients.Actively participate to the Reinsurance Renewal process, making good use of related Company tools.Actively participate to market research and produce overviewManage reinsurance loss advices in collaboration with accounting team.Proactively raise (potential) issues with clients or reinsurers to Management.Be eager to learn and to further develop your technical and commercial skills.Subject to the development of your technical skills, actively interact with clients and reinsurers.What you need to have:A bachelor's degree or equivalent.An expertise in managing Data via Excel, structuring them in a proper way and being able to interpret them.A strong ability in making presentation and reports (strong knowledge of PowerPoint is required).Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, for establishing and maintaining excellent client relationships.An interest for the insurance and/or financial sector / a general knowledge of business principles and (re)insurance industry trends.Superior analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail.A strong ability to work within a team, while being autonomous and accountable for the work delegated to you.A proactive mind-set : a desire and ability to contribute to internal initiatives and to bring projects to completion.A desire to grow and further develop.Fluency in English and either French or Dutch/Flemish (written and spoken).What makes you stand out?An interest for the insurance and/or financial sector/a general knowledge of business principles and (re)insurance industry trends.Prior knowledge or work experience in Insurance or Reinsurance sector (Underwriting, Data Office or Risk side).Financial background with focus on Data Management.Commercial and negotiation skills.If you would like to apply for this position, please send your CV in English.Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC is a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist with more than 3,100 professionals in over 60 offices around the world.
