About the Role:
Landing is entering an exciting chapter in its history, as we expand our business and our team. As our Director of Learning & Development, you'll partner closely with our VP of People and management team to take out training and culture initiatives to the next level. You will be part of a fast-growing start-up, co-creating our education strategy and content. You will demonstrate to your stakeholders how a strategic talent partner drives engagement, builds organizational scalability and solves complex organizational dynamics through focused people and culture development initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who has worked both at start-ups and larger organizations. You will develop strategies while implementing programs that inspire, motivate, and develop our employees. You are someone who seeks and thrives in ambiguous situations while influencing an open, collaborative, and fun culture. This role reports directly to our VP of People.

What You'll Do:
- Serve as strategic thought partner and operator to both envision and deliver training programs that elevate our Manager and Employee skill, performance, engagement and morale
- Relationships -- Develop strong, proactive and collaborative working relationships across the organization
- Program Management -- Oversee all aspects of Learning & Development including Needs Assessment; Content Design; Program Management; Delivery; and Continuous Improvement
- Coach/Mentor - Partner with the HR Business Partner team to coach Managers and Employees through various Employee Relations needs
- Systems -- Evaluate, select and manage multiple LMS solutions to ensure we have amazing content delivered to the right people, at the right time, in a scalable, measurable, fun way that serves the needs of the business
- Content -- You have the ability to design or source the best content / message for the need
- Scaling / Process - You design solutions with scalability in mind, adapting the delivery to the growing nature of the business -- combining in-person and virtual delivery, and tracking progress across multiple teams/locations
- Diversity & Inclusion - Partner with People team to help define and implement strategies for creating an inclusive, high performing culture
What You Need:
- Location: Birmingham or San Francisco, with willingness to travel.
- 6-8+ years of Training/OD experience -- including designing and delivering content
- Tenure in a start-up or high growth organization of 250+ employees
- Able to thrive in high-growth environments and an evolving startup atmosphere.
- Strategic "Doer" - you're an expert at zooming out and seeing the big picture, but don't overlook the tiny details and love to build from the ground up
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a high degree of personal credibility at all levels of the organization
- Use excellent judgment to make sound decisions
- You're data-driven and use a quantitative approach to guide decision making
- Well-organized with strong leadership qualities
- You know how to build effective and cohesive teams
