ATSS Engineering has a client in Calvert, AL looking for an Electrical Weld Engineer.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The Electrical Weld Engineer will ensure the readiness and availability of the electrical functionality of the industrial laser welding machines and the utilization and availability of electrical spare parts under the point of quality and costs within the highly automated Cold Rolling Mill to meet the business goals.
The Basics:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electricity, or equivalent Experience
ColdRolling Mill Experienceor experience working in a steel environment for 2 years
Minimum of 2 years experience with electrical maintenance in an industrial environment
Understanding of standard programming principles and practices to include logical instances and cycles; calling functions and modular programming for logic reuse (Siemens S7 & Allen-Bradley experience preferred)
Competencies in multiple programming platforms with use of ladder logic, function block and textual/statement list logic and PID Loop Controls
Understanding of different memory types and their uses in a control system
Knowledge in CO2 Laser systems
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products, proficient at using MS Excel and navigation of SAP
Good understanding of process automation applications in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge in power feeding, distribution systems and motors and drives and technological functions
Knowledge in sensor actor systems, field bus systems, (Profibus, CAN bus, decentralized I/O Systems (ET200)
Knowledge in process data acquisition systems (IBA), HMI Systems (Wonderware & WinCC) and network technology (Ethernet)

WHAT YOULL BE DOING
Researching industry best practices, troubleshoot and detect process failure modes
Ensuring the coordination and cooperation with the Specialists Mechanical Maintenance and Shift Personnel forthe area
Inspecting equipment in your designated area of responsibility thoroughly and report detailed findings in SAP as notifications
Analyzing short term and long-term data to detect trends and shifts in process
Taking part in the daily meetings and briefings on maintenance situations
Clarifying sources for maintenance disturbances in cooperation with the mechanical maintenance personnel
Supporting unscheduled maintenance activities direct at the lines together with the shift electricians
Planning of the fixed maintenance line break downs regarding the whole electrical activities
Supporting the SAP PM System regarding electrical maintenance items

Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
