Job description

The Order Filling Supervisor reports directly to the Order Filling Senior Manager. They provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the order filling associates. The order filling Supervisor is responsible for achieving their monthly cost per unit budget as well as overall units per hour target. The order filling Supervisor has a thorough understanding of all warehouse operations including logistics, stocking and shipping procedures and knowledge about all AWBC departments in the warehouse. The Order Filling Supervisor demonstrates behavior that supports AWBC core values.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing and meeting department goals.
  • Coaching and counseling performance of up to 45 direct reports.
  • Training and mentoring associates in the department.
  • Providing data daily for productivity reports.
  • Reviewing and approving timesheets daily.
  • Scheduling and assigning work daily based on the day's picks.
  • Leading and motivating the order fillers to meet or exceed the monthly CPU budget.
  • Leading and motivating the order fillers to meet or exceed the UPH target.
  • Reviewing and communicating with outside vendors.
  • Participating in daily, weekly, and monthly required meetings.
  • Interviewing and hiring candidates; makes recommendations for other actions in conjunctions with Human Recourses.
  • Promoting safety within their department daily. In the event of an incident or accident take appropriate actions as required by policy.
  • Ability to manage individual associate performance & department productivity.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.



Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BS degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 Years related experience in a warehouse environment, including voice pick.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)

Must Have:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to establish priorities.Demonstrate the ability to manage warehouse employees by directing, motivating, developing, and coaching associates.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle internal and external customers.
  • High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
  • Strategic thinker, planner and change agent.
  • Ability to prepare, manage and oversee budgets
  • .Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Advanced computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Outlook required and experience with AS/400 systems preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Read and write legibly. Including very small print.
  • Listen to information, and follow directions provided through an electronic headset.
  • Walk up to 8 miles a day. Walking short distances through the department/building.
  • Use hands/arms to operate required equipment and repetitive motion activities.
  • Lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
  • Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
