Job Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School provides an instructional and research environment for approximately 9,200 graduate students in over 150 fields at the master's and doctoral levels, overseeing almost 200 programs, certificates, and minors stretching across virtually every school and college in the university. The Graduate School receives nearly 20,000 applications from all fifty states and 140 different countries of the world and confers more than 750 doctoral and 1,800 master's degrees each year. The Graduate School works in concert with other campus units, faculty, and staff to provide guidance and resources that support professional development of graduate students and the representation of diversity in the broadest possible sense.
The IT Business Analyst position reports to the Director of Admissions. This position will work with Graduate School staff, Graduate School Information Technology, graduate program staff, faculty, students and other campus partners.
The IT Business Analyst will maintain and improve processes, policies, and systems by leveraging a strong working knowledge and technical expertise in Graduate School systems, campus databases, and information technology tools. The incumbent will also aid in creating a comprehensive technical documentation of graduate school admission processes. This position will also evaluate admission applications; gpa, credentials, test scores and previous degrees and interact directly with applicants and program staff throughout the admissions process.

- Two years of relevant work experience in higher education
- Experience with business analysis, process improvement, technical documentation, data analysis and query
- Experience with databases and leveraging querying tools
- Experience using Oracle Campus Solutions

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as organizational and time management skills
