Position: Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant Job Description:

You will be responsible for obtaining and recording patient vital signs, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and assisting our Physicians and nurses in examinations when needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be certified from a medical assistant program and have at least one to two years of prior experience in a medical setting. A basic understanding of patient care and medical terminology will be a huge advantage for you.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

• Obtaining and recording patient vitals with confidentiality and completing dietary forms for the patient.
• Getting the patient to the exam room in a timely manner.
• Performing ocular / eye exams on patients.
• Performing hearing screenings on patients upon doctor's request.
• Notifying the physician or nurse of any patient abnormal vitals.
• Preparing and stocking exam rooms for clinical examinations and assisting physicians and nurses with medical procedures and other patient care.
• Verifying proper ASQ and identifying the correct chart with the patient.
• Completing Autoclave and sterilization of medical equipment and utensils.
• Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.

Medical Assistant Requirements:

• Must have certification from a medical assistant program or military medical corpsman program.
• One to two years of experience in a medical setting.
• Have high school diploma or equivalent.
• A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology and medical assistant practice scope.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
