DescriptionGeorgia-Pacific is currently looking for a talented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our Alabama River Cellulose team in Perdue Hill, AL. The clerk is responsible for receiving all parts and tools in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. This position is expected to do all shipping, receiving, stocking and issuing of store items while creating value through strategic thinking around stocking plans, inventory turn, and local cost savings. Long-term value is created through the application of the company's business philosophy of Market Based Management and Georgia-Pacific's Guiding Principles.What You Will Do In Your RoleReceive, stock, pick, issue, and locate materials - including hazardous and nonhazardousConduct regular audits for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Point of Use Inventory (POU) materialsEnsure compliance to all safety, environmental, and stores policies and proceduresContribute to a quality work environment by maintaining respectful relationships with all mill customers, stores employees, and suppliersWork productively and efficiently with minimal supervisionThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:High School Diploma or GEDOne (1) year or more of experience in maintenance, stores, or inventory managementExperience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)Must perform physical tasks for extended periods of time - sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders/stairs, and working at heightsMust lift at least 50 poundsWhat Will Put You AheadFive (5) years or more of experience in maintenance, stores, or inventory managementExperience with 4Site or a similar inventory system for tasks such as inventory queries, issue transactions, shipping and receiving transactions, and storeroom replenishmentExperience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and overhead cranesExperience with shipping procedures and DOT regulationsOur Alabama River Cellulose mill is situated in the Perdue Hill, AL area less than 15 miles from Monroeville, AL and less than 100 miles north of Mobile and Pensacola offering the charm of small city living, limitless recreational opportunities, and close proximity to the beautiful Alabama and Florida Gulf beaches.
