POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting production schedules in a functional area while maintaining safety and quality standards. This position is accountable for improving results in order to accomplish objectives and doing so in support of Company values and appropriate management practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • The supervisor leads the safety initiative in the department and constantly focuses on safety by creating a safe work environment, weekly meetings and communication. Supervisor should strive for 0 accidents.
  • Demonstrates problem solving and troubleshooting skills to address equipment, quality, and process issues and escalate the issue to the support functions as required.
  • Develop and train new employees and cross-train current employees to grow to the next level through effective communication and coaching by setting solid expectations and providing specific and timely performance feedback.
  • Planning your daily and long term staffing requirements. Understand the causes (i.e. break downs, training, performance, quality etc.)
  • Continuously observing and improving processes by implementing changes to improve performance.
  • Effectively communicates objectives and results and is aware of downtime.
  • Coordinates work assignments to optimize the utilization of people, machines, materials and processes to meet requirements, compliance, and operating cost objectives.
  • Inventory raw materials and transact scrap to meet or exceeds objectives.
  • Complete Kronos review, review and respond to emails, complete reviews and order supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meeting and completing assignments
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Work with assigned Quality Technician to coordinate activities to resolve customer problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Develops and directs key improvement projects to continuously improve department performance in the areas of quality, safety, services and cost reduction.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree in business or technical field preferred.

Experience: 5 years warehouse or manufacturing experience, whichever is applicable. Without a degree, 5 years warehouse or manufacturing experience in which at least 2 years are in a supervisory/lead role.

Required Skills:
  • Basic PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases
  • Working knowledge of mechanical processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including scheduling and staffing.
  • Time management and team building skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem solving skills.

SPECIAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to frequently navigate in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for using measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
