? This position supports Grand Canyon National Park of the National Park Service
and may be performed remotely. ? The NPS Experienced Services Program is a
unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government
agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the NPS to
provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? NPS ESP positions
are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is
currently funded for an estimate of 15 weeks. ? A background security
investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with
30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions
will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program
are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the NPS or NOWCC. NOWCC
is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects
of the program, and the Enrollees work under NPS direction to assist the Agency
staff in carrying out their mission. NPS ESP Enrollees benefit from the
opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training
opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake
meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the
environment, the national economy, and their own financial security.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 year(s) of experience in Human Resource Management, Workforce
Development or related. OR BA/BS Degree in HR, Business or other related degree.

Knowledge of the NPS methods and practices in the field of Human Resources.
Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
Duties:

This position is located in the Employee and Organizational Development unit, of
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. The position supports Park supervisors and
managers in workforce organization, priorities, and determines resource
requirements; and assisting with the selection or preparation of recruitment
documents, such as position descriptions, job analyses, crediting plans,
Requests for Personnel Actions, and so forth.

Duties include providing expert guidance in workforce planning, staffing and
recruitment. This individual will work closely with NPS supervisors and managers
in providing management with insight into establishing organizational structures
that are efficient, cost effective, support desired grade levels, and facilitate
career development. 55%
The enrollee will apply knowledge about NPS HR processes, available products
and services to assist the customer in preparing and submitting the documents
and following up on the status. 10%
The enrollee may write draft documentations for the hiring managers review
and submission. 15%
The enrollee may work with selection officials in coordinating interview
panels, developing crediting plans, and documenting the selections. 10%

Physical requirements: The position is primarily sedentary in a home office
setting using a computer and telephone.
