Key members of our team are our Human Resources associates. This role works at our Mesa, AZ warehouse and is the key driver of human resources initiatives. From recruiting to onboarding, training and engagement, employee relations and disciplinary measures, this position is the sole HR member. This role will also work closely and report into HR at our headquarters location in Wixom, MI, and will also have some responsibilities that overlap between Mesa and Wixom. This role requires an HR member to be very comfortable being independent and being managed remotely.

Travel requirements: This positon will be required to travel to our Wixom, MI facility for onboarding training during the first 2-3 weeks of employment. After that, travel to Wixom will be about 1x/quarter.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Initiate recruiting process for any open positions
  • Write, post and review job postings all platforms
  • Conduct phone screens for qualified candidates
  • Schedule and attend site interviews with qualified candidates
  • Write offer letters
  • Promote employee engagement
  • Support employee onboarding process
  • Plan, schedule and execute employee events and monthly celebrations
  • Conduct employee onboarding for new hires
  • Executes the compensation strategy that is fair and market competitive based on job descriptions
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Act as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for employee questions
  • Review and approve time cards
  • Process payroll
  • Generate reports for HR department as necessary
  • Conduct verifications of employment as requested
  • Update forms and documents as needed
  • Attend proficiency training sessions as needed
  • Update company organizational charts
  • Maintain HR files
  • Act as initial contact to facility guests
  • Maintain records of point system and PTO for employees
  • Other duties as needed

Job Skills and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Education and Training Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent required, bachelors degree in Human Resources or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of recruiting experience
