About the Team:
The Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They work to provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments including, Marketing, Creative, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team. Everyone brings his or her own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents.

About the Job:
SUMMARY

The manager of visual communications and graphic design will be a critical part of a growing team - responsible for bringing to life PetSmart's vast stories to internal and external audiences through exceptional visual communication mediums that inform, motivate, and inspire associates, while building on PetSmart's strategic initiatives and culture.

This position is responsible for designing and rolling out PetSmart creative, visual storytelling and multimedia communications for the Corporate Communication Team. Rolls out creative pieces ensuring that the communication objectives are met and that all projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Influences the creative direction, designs and rolls out compelling visual communications for Corporate Communications including executive-level PowerPoint presentations, still and motion graphics, and social media content

Manages and adheres to established schedules in a fast-paced environment with deadlines

Develops content aligned to brand look and feel consistently across all creative deliverables

Works productively and harmoniously as a teammate with video team, internal communications, PR and social media colleagues, and marketing and creative partners

Creates constructive and collaborative relationships with business partners to support initiatives

Collaborates and thrives in a corporate environment with a professional and positive attitude

Stays relevant with current and future design trends and technology inside and outside of retail

Works with photographers and art directors on the development of visual assets to support projects

Adaptability to software demands as needs arise

REQUIRED SKILLS

Mastery in Adobe Creative Suite (In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)

Knowledge of Microsoft software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)

Experience creating professional and compelling PowerPoint presentations for senior leaders

Experience creating visual social media content

Ability to distill complex information and tell a story using visual communication mediums

Advanced knowledge of web/mobile user interface and interactive design and understanding of technical constraints

Intermediate knowledge of video, video editing, motion graphics and/or animation techniques

Technical knowledge of file preparation and procedures

Thorough understanding of the principles and elements of design and ability to translate them into an outstanding aesthetic within the brand voice

Excellent sensibility for type, color and page layout and visual problem-solving

Proven written and verbal communication in a professional environment

Ability to present creative ideas, provide rationale behind creative strategies, present work at internal creative reviews and to external business partners; is receptive and open to input and feedback

Motivated, flexible, detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills

Experience working in a retail creative environment a plus

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in an in-house creative department or marketing/ad agency

Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication or equivalent education and experience
