Bonus will be distributed as follows: $200.00 after successful completion of training or 90 days; remaining $300.00 paid over next 90 days at $100 per month. Bonus for full time positions only.

JOB SUMMARY: Shifts in mornings and/or afternoons include more hands-on with our kiddos in foster care like preparing meals and demonstrating family meal times; helping kiddos prepare for bed and the next day while teaching hygiene and spiritual values; and preparing them for future success by helping and encouraging them in their homework and study time.

SCHEDULE: This opportunity is available both Part-Time and Full-Time. GAP works with Direct Care Professionals to maximize their schedule. Split shifts are guaranteed a 40 hour work week M-F; other shifts include 6:00A to 9:00A or 2:00P to 9:00P or similar.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Implement the Night schedule for the children; help to supervise morning activities of the group or with individual children within the group.
  • Conduct and document regular, intermittent bed checks per agency policy. Pray for children during Night Watch hours.
  • Prep and prepare meals, following posted menu and follow sanitary guidelines.
  • Physically interact with the children in an appropriate manner when needed.
  • Transport children to appointments when needed.
  • Ensure records are maintained in compliance with federal/state/local regulations. Complete all paperwork in a prompt and careful manner, keeping records confidential.
  • Ensure that the home is maintained in a safe and clean manner; including household cleaning and doing laundry..
  • Work with SPLASH Manager to meet expectations for each SPLASH house.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be physically fit to perform job duties. Be emotionally able to display warmth and able to enjoy and be comfortable with active, often aggressive and disorganized children in an intimate, integrated living situation.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs.
  • Be able to respect and work cooperatively with a variety of persons.
  • Able to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations. Have the ability to stay calm in tense situations and utilize common sense and logic.

REQUIREMENTS PROVIDED BY GAP MINISTRIES WHEN HIRED:
  • FBI fingerprint clearance and Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screen, Drug screen, physical examination (fit for duty).
    • GAP Ministries is a drug-free workplace and requires drug screening of all new employees as well as random screenings to ensure enforcement of this policy.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 22 years old.
  • At least a high school diploma or equivalency diploma (GED), and one year experience in working with children; or one-year post-high school education in a program leading to a degree in the field of child welfare or human services.
  • Successful clearance of Criminal Background Check(s), Central Registry in Arizona and any state(s) lived in within 5 years of hire.
  • Valid driver license and a good 5 year driving record to drive 15 passenger van.
  • Children must have proof of current immunizations at all times, as outlined by the CDC Immunization Schedule.
  • Have manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills and be able to perform various physical tasks.

This is a safety sensitive position.

COVID-19 considerations:
All non-live-in staff of this department, are required to wear face coverings, complete daily symptoms survey, and have a temperature check at beginning of shift.
