Senior Full Stack Engineer

AcreTrader is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Fayetteville, AR to lead our development team in building the most accurate, comprehensive, and usable farmland technical tool available today. Our AcreMaps team is one of three rapidly-growing business units, and we need someone who is excited about helping our developers grow in their careers and can help them further develop technical skill sets. The person in this role will be a mentor, manager, and guide to team members so they can continue on their paths to becoming excellent engineers. About 30% of this role will be people management.

Seventy percent of this role will be hands-on coding. Day-to-day, the Senior Software Engineer will help implement the latest mapping and web technologies to create tools that meet the needs of investors, farmers, brokers, and landowners. Because of this, the person in this role must have front-end and back-end knowledge and be able to make architectural design choices. The person who joins our team in this role will get to build a product from scratch with their voice and their decisions, making an almost immediate impact on our users. Core responsibilities:

• Organize full lifecycle software development
• Prepare specifications and determine operational feasibility
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code
• Prepare software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Organize documentation and maintenance of software functionality
• Serve as the technical lead for a team of developers
• Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
• Provide support and consulting on software systems usage

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• 5 or more years of software development experience
• Experience in a technical lead role and/or leading a software development team
• 3 or more years of experience in Python and Javascript (React and Redux)
• 3 or more years of experience in SQL and Docker
• Comfort with working in an Agile environment
• Strong communication skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a startup environment
• Transparency and openness to feedback
• Interested in farming or agriculture
